The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor is pleased to announce its newly formed link with ACT charity organisation Bosom Buddies. Announced today, the support arrangement is aimed to help raise money and awareness for the charity which provides support for breast cancer patients and their families in Canberra and the surrounding areas.
The Plumbing & Electrical Doctors tradespeople will spread the word of the charity in the ACT region and take donations on their behalf.
Bosom Buddies is a non-profit organisation of volunteers who have been providing personal support to breast cancer patients and their families and supporters in the ACT since 1995. All Bosom Buddies volunteers have experienced breast cancer personally or through loved ones. They are committed to providing support to every person in the community who is going through the breast cancer journey.
Bosom Buddies President, Shelley Atkins was very grateful for The Plumbing & Electrical Doctors’ sponsorship offer as it will make a huge difference to the volunteers who not only provide support to those undergoing treatment but also have to raise funds to keep the organisation going.
“Over the last 20 years we have always had to raise funds to keep going as we do not receive any funding assistance from the national breast cancer organisation nor from the State or federal governments”, she said. “This arrangement will not only raise funds but also promote what we do in the community and also spread the message of being breast aware to ensure early detection” said Atkins.
A frequent supporter of local business and charities, The Plumbing & Electrical Doctor’s Joe Evers is thrilled to offer his support to such a valuable cause:
“We know breast cancer impacts so many people in Australia every day and charities like Bosom Buddies ACT need all the help they can get” said Evers. “They do great work in our community and we hope that by partnering with them we can help make others aware of the work they do.”
Mr Evers plans to offer the opportunity to support the charity to all his companies’ customers. “Our tradespeople will give each customer the chance to donate and 100% of donations will go straight to Bosom Buddies.”
“As tradespeople we visit hundreds of homes every week. If we can use a portion of that time to help charities like Bosom Buddies then we are more than happy to work together.”
