When Lightning Strikes

Have you ever wondered what might happen if lightning were to strike your home?

During a recent storm a lightning strike hit the concrete in front of a garage roller door on a Canberra property. The strike made the concrete 'explode', shooting fragments on to the door and through the eve sheet above. 

The strike blew a chunk of ​pavement out approx 4 metres away from the strike, fried the meter board, phone line, power point for the electric roller doors, house alarm system and also blew the glass out of a window in the rear bedroom.

Our customers daughter said she felt the lighting strike run through her body and she was in the rear room of the house next door to the lightning struck house.

Our technician thinks the owner is lucky to be alive after he inspected the damage caused by this freak of nature.

The house now requires a full rewire.
